Call me “K.P.”

A young woman with long brown hair, wearing a dark blue sleeveless blouse with white vertical stripes, and a gold necklace, standing against a plain light background.

KP was born and raised in Birmingham, AL before graduating from Vestavia Hills High School and moving to Savannah, GA for college at Savannah College of Art and Design. She majored in Motion Design and minored in Advertising.

Following college she moved to Charleston, SC and started an internship with a local animation studio, Moondog Animation, which taught her the importance of collaboration when working on projects with large teams. A follow up internship with a remote motion boutique, Thinkmojo, shaped her communication skills in a fully-remote working environment.

These skills were further refined by her time working at Boeing as a Visual Practitioner. In this position she worked as an internal consultant, assisting teams and individuals at all levels and locations of the enterprise to think creatively about problems and communicate successful solutions visually- through presentations, websites, illustrations, and animations.

Following layoffs driven by COVID and 737 Max complications, KP joined the small team at New Wire Marine as their Art Director and Social Media Manager. As the only creative at the company, she was responsible for photography & photo editing, the social media content, creation, & scheduling, videography & editing, and website updates.

She now works at the South Carolina Hospital Association as the Graphics and Web Specialist on the Communications team. In this role she has participated in state-wide campaigns to recognize the tremendous impact hospitals have on the communities they support, workforce recruitment efforts, and creating safe workplaces for healthcare heroes. These campaigns were supported by custom websites, social media posts & ads, videos, strategic billboards, print materials, and in-person events. Day-to-day job duties often included creating presentations, updating websites, designing event signage & materials, and editing photos.

Her experience has taught her communication & collaboration are the biggest drivers of success in visual/communication jobs. Working well with others and utilizing feedback creates the strongest end result.
